A Very Harry Couple – Engagement Ring Ideas for Potterheads
Harry Potter lovers are everywhere, and when I say lovers I don’t only mean that the love Harry Potter. Various Harry Potter themed engagement rings have been used by men for their Potterhead girls. While the more romantic ones have taken an extra step – hollowing out the Half-Blood Prince book and putting a ring on it – on ‘The Unbreakable Vow’ chapter. (Dear Future Husband, don’t you dare do that to my lovely books). But personal opinions aside, the gesture definitely makes women swoon. Here are these and several other ideas that have definitely made hearts go pitter-patter!
1. She’s Snitched
These beautiful opening Snitches bring back to us, memories of the Deathly Hallows. And the quote “I open at the close” can be used for a ring as well – so what’s better than a Snitch Ring Box? These guys had a Snitch ring box made especially for this very Harry proposal! I’m definitely swooning.
2. Embedded in Your Heart (and Finger) – Always
This Always ring is really trending nowadays and is also a favorite amongst Potterhead couples. Wearing a ring leaves grooves behind. You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to know that. But this special ring leaves an impression saying “Always” in your ring finger. That’s a pretty permanent way of letting your spouse know of your love if you ask me!
3. A Bookish Proposal
Dear future husband here’s a few things you’ll need to know if you wanna be my one and only all my life. While most bookworms may flinch at hollowing out a book, you have to agree this is an absolutely swoon-worthy method of proposing to your girl. While some keep the ring inside the Half-Blood Prince book, on the chapter “The Unbreakable Vow”, others have put in just the proposal there. A tiny snitch that opens to say “Marry Me?”Others have used the book Deathly Hallows to be their ‘Ringbearer’ by keeping the rings on the chapter “The Wedding” – often on their wedding day, if not for a proposal.
4. Themed Engagement Rings
While proposing using Harry Potter props is fun and all, some people have taken a step further down this road and used themed rings as wedding and engagement rings. While some use the Deathly Hallows sigil, some have the diamonds studded in a Snitch. There are several ‘House rings‘ as well. Using Rubies for Gryffindor, Emeralds for Slytherin – much like what they used in the points glass, these engagement rings portray your houses. You might belong in Hufflepuff, where they are just and loyal. Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you’ve a ready mind.
5. Inscribed In My Heart – And The Engagement Rings
Inscribing your loved one’s name, or something significant to you both on engagement rings has always been a trend. Adding this to the Harry Potter fever, fans have inscribed the Deathly Hallows signet, “Always”, “After all this time… Always”, or “Until the Very End” on their wedding rings. Another dash of the Harry Potter world can be added to your proposal by the ring boxes. Where some people have used a sorting hat ring box, others used the snitch as one, while some used the whole book – hollowing it out and keeping the ring inside.
